About

Justin Holt is an Australian artist trained in impressionist landscape painting. Having studied and practiced building design for many years, Justin began oil painting under the instruction of prominent Western Australian artist Tony McAlinden.
Over the last three decades working as an art practitioner, Justin’s art has developed to combine his passion for architecture, eye for perspective and detail, use of light and vibrant colours, often weaving in humour and irony. The experience of having lived and worked in different parts of Australia and Europe, have further stimulated his practice, having been exposed to a diversity of artistic movements, as well as urban and natural settings. The latter are celebrated in a lot of his work, where unique and often unassuming structures are juxtaposed with life affirming landscapes.
Justin was shortlisted for the John Leslie Art Prize 2016 and has held a number of solo and joint exhibitions. He has received commissions, and his work is held in private collections, in Australia and internationally.
Justin’s practice is complimented by his passion for and commitment to the arts and different manifestations of creativity. This includes mentoring and supporting emerging artists, participating on art committees, curating exhibitions, while also providing art masterclasses for children and adults. Justin currently shares his time and practices his art in Australia and Greece.
